Teams and the team feed

Moving is more fun when you do it with other people. Invite friends, family, or coworkers, or join a community team. Here's how it all works:

Joining and creating teams

How do I join a team?

Open the Teams tab. Tap Join Team to search by name, or enter a team code a friend has shared with you. You can also browse Featured teams — public teams anyone can join — and tap View to look around before you commit.

How do I start my own?

Tap Create Team, give it a name and pick an icon. You'll get a team code to share, and the Invite button on your team page sends it out. Team leaders can tap Edit to change the name and icon later.

Can I be on more than one team?

We know you run in many circles, so you can join as many teams as you like. Family team, work team, running-club team.

Can my team work toward a shared goal?

Yes! Teams can set a shared distance target with a start and end date, and everyone's miles count toward it. It's a good way to make sure nobody feels like they're carrying the team or holding it back.

Inside a team

What are the three tabs?

  • Activity — the team feed, where everyone's activities, achievements, plans and announcements land.
  • Leaderboard — how everyone's doing.
  • Gallery — photos shared with this team.

How do I cheer someone on?

Tap the reaction button under any feed item to open the picker — there are five to choose from: like, heart, fire, congrats and wow. Tap the reaction count above an item to see who's been cheering. You can leave a comment too, and we'll let you know when someone replies in a thread you're part of.

The feed's busy. Can I narrow it down?

Tap Filter at the top. You can show or hide activities, plans, achievements and posts, and limit activities to just the ones with a photo or a description. Whatever you've picked shows up as chips you can tap to clear.

What are plans?

Plans are how a team arranges to move together, in person or virtually. Tap Make a plan and add a title, date, time, location and description. Teammates tap Join to say they're coming, and anything you're attending shows up on your own Record tab so you don't forget.

Can I turn down the noise from one team?

Yes — use the bell icon on that team's page. It works separately from your app-wide notification settings, so you can go quiet on a chatty team without missing everything else.

Reporting something

Every comment and gallery image has a menu with a flag option, and you can add a note explaining what's wrong. Reports come straight to our team and we take them seriously.
