Getting started
Getting into the app takes about two minutes. Here's what to expect.
Getting the app
Where do I download it?
The app is free to download for iOS and Android devices:
When you register for an event, you'll also get a link to get the app in your confirmation email.
My order had more than one registration. How do I get everyone else set up?
Each person will get an email with their own login details, so everyone can get themselves going. If someone hasn't gotten theirs, check the spelling on the order, then get in touch.
It's been a while and no email has shown up.
Check your spam or junk folder, and double-check the address on your order. If it's still nowhere, get in touch and our team will help you get it figured out. Please include your order number to help us locate your order faster.
Signing in
How do I sign in? I don't have a password.
You don't need one! We email you a code instead:
- Enter your email address and tap Continue.
- Tap Email me a login code.
- Type in the code from your inbox and tap Login.
Already have a code in hand? Tap I have a login code and skip straight to it.
My code never showed up.
Check your spam or junk folder first — that's where it usually is. If it's not there, tap Send a new code. Still nothing? You may have registered with a different email address, so tap Try a different email and try that one.
The app doesn't recognize my email.
You'll see two options. Try a different email is the one you want if you think you signed up with another address—starting a brand new account won't bring your history along with it. Use Create new account only if you're genuinely new here.
I've used the app before with a different email. Can I keep my badges?
Yes! On the first setup screen, tap Merge your old account. We'll send a code to your old address, and once you verify it your badges, distance and stats carry over to your current account.
Already finished setup and ended up with two accounts? Get in touch and we'll merge them for you.
What the app asks permission for
Why does it want my location — and why "Always"?
Only if you plan to use our built-in outdoor tracker. It records your route while the app runs in the background, so if location is set to "While using the app" instead of Always, tracking stops when you lock your screen or switch apps.
Rather not share location at all? No problem. You can take part in our events using the Indoor, Manual, Strava or Apple Health options. See Recording your activity.
Do I have to turn on notifications?
Nope, entirely up to you. They're what power your activity reminders, alerts when teammates cheer you on, and season announcements. You can switch them on later and pick exactly which ones you get, see Settings and privacy.
