Why Run Across America?
- Unwrap a season of festive holiday fitness challenges—starting with a Turkey Trot.
- We can come together to help support Feeding America to keep food on the table for our neighbors.
- Stay motivated and moving through the holiday season by setting a goal of 50 km (or more) to achieve by New Year's Day.
How does this event work?
This is a cumulative distance challenge. You get to choose a goal (50km, 100km, 250km, or 500km) to achieve this holiday season, from November 16 and New Year's Day. Along the way, we’ll have bonus events, badges, and more to keep you motivated and moving.
What are the bonus challenges?
Your Holiday Hustle registration includes bonus events to keep you moving. Each event will earn you a badge, and all of them count toward your overall progress toward your goal. Find out about the challenges as they happen in the Run Across America app.
How do I sign up?
To join the Holiday Hustle (and Turkey Trot), you first register on this site. Pre-orders are now open so you get first dibs on limited edition merchandise. After registration, you'll get an email with a unique code and instructions to download the Run Across America app that we use for the event. From there you can create a team and challenge friends to join you virtually.
Can I register my whole family at once?
As long as any physical items you order (shirts, medals) are set to go to the same address, you can register as many people as you'd like at once. Just add multiple registrations to your cart. We'll send you a unique code per registrant so everyone can set up the app/enter their info on their own phone.
🎁 Family deal! Order 2 or more registrations and save 5%! 4 or more will earn you 10% off. Savings will apply automatically in your cart.
What does registration include?
Your registration includes event entry, access to our exclusive route tracking app, an optional shirt and/or limited edition beanie (add $20 if you want both), and bonus events during the season. You can start running with your team as soon as you register. Medals (created by partner Ashworth Awards, maker of the Boston Marathon medals) are available for purchase separately.
What happens when I pre-register?
We've opened up Holiday Hustle and Turkey Trot registration early so you can make your plans for the season. When you order today, you'll lock in your choice of limited-edition merchandise. Orders will start shipping in early November. You'll also get access to the top-rated Run Across America app immediately, so you can get set up and even start training. Just remember, your distance won't count toward the season goal until the event starts on November 16.
I'm an annual pass holder, when will I get my free access code?
Daily Distance annual passholders get free entry to a whole year of fun. The passholder codes will be sent out by early November to ensure you've got plenty of time to get set up before the event starts. In the meantime, enjoy the Fall Frenzy!
When will I receive my shirt and other shipped items?
Merchandise is printed on-demand as orders are placed. Most items are currently taking about 2-3 weeks. All Holiday Hustle and Turkey Trot orders will begin shipping in early-November. Getting in early will assure that you receive your Trot shirts in time for Thanksgiving!
I’m still waiting on some items from Fall. When should I expect them?
Delays in sourcing, printing, and shipping are all compounding to make logistics tough this season. Our team is shipping out orders just as soon as items arrive at our warehouse, but for some select few items it may be several weeks before they arrive. We proactively reach out to your in email when delays like this happen – check your inbox for specific updates on your order. At any time you can email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Do you have other shirt sizes available? What about other products?
Registration comes with the standard shirt and it's only available in the sizes listed (a limitation of our shirt supplier). If there are additional products you'd like to see, let us know!
Participating in the event
Do I have to run? What if I'm not a runner?
You don't have to be a runner to join us! Sprint, jog, walk, pedal, or roll, we're happy to have you in the event. You can now also add different activities when you decide to try out a bike, kayak, or one of many other activities.
Can my team work toward a shared goal?
Absolutely! You can set a goal for your team and you'll all earn badges when you achieve certain milestones together.
How do I stay safe while participating?
Keeping you safe is our top priority. We expect all participants to follow all local, state, and federal laws while participating, which includes abiding by all health guidance and restrictions in your area prior to undertaking any physical activity. These may include minimum distances from other people, crowd sizes, and/or protective gear requirements like masks or gloves. See the latest federal guidance from the CDC.
You're welcome to count distance you record on a treadmill or walk indoors. See more about how to log your distance in the Run Across America app.
With your help, we can all stay active and stay safe.
