Go the extra mile for Hunger Action Month
Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive, and in every community in America, people are working hard to provide for themselves and their families. Yet 34 million people (1 in 10), including more than 9 million children (1 in 8), experience food insecurity in the U.S.
When people are fed, futures are nourished. Every action―big or small―is one step closer to an America where no one is hungry. Through Run Across America, together we've contributed 7.98 million meals so far.
September is Hunger Action Month
Go the extra mile this year to help in your community. Here are some ways you can make a difference with Feeding America and Run Across America:
-
Turn movement into meals. Log 10 Fall Frenzy activities between 9/4 and 9/20 for our Hunger Action challenge and we'll donate 10 meals to Feeding America. Sign up for Fall Frenzy and start logging
-
Volunteer at your local food bank. Spend a morning or afternoon helping to sort and package food in your community, or helping distribute food. It's really fun! Find your local food bank
-
Get your donation matched 2x. Right now, you can sign up for Fall Frenzy and get your contribution to Feeding America doubled. Contribute during sign up
-
Thank a food bank hero. Food bank staff and volunteers are on the front lines of helping millions of families make ends meet. Share your support for the food bank staff and volunteers by signing a card and sharing your words of gratitude. Send a card
-
Host a food drive. Food drives help food charities keep their shelves stocked. They also help raise awareness about hunger in your community and encourage others to help. Start your food drive
