Clearing the driveway is a workout — your back knows it, your shoulders know it, and now the Run Across America app agrees. With our latest update, Snow Shovel is an official activity type, so winter chores can move your challenge forward.
Introducing the Snow Shovel activity
Logging it takes seconds:
- Add an activity and choose Snow Shovel.
- Enter how long you shoveled using the hours / minutes / seconds fields.
- Pick the effort that matches the job — Light clearing for a dusting, Heavy shoveling for the real storms.
The app's distance estimator converts your time into miles based on how hard the work was — an hour of heavy shoveling earns about 5 miles — and credits them toward your challenge progress just like a run or a walk.
Part of a smoother logging experience
Snow Shovel arrives alongside a batch of improvements that make logging any activity faster and friendlier: a redesigned activity screen with an icon for every activity type, effort levels as easy-to-tap chips, inline hours / minutes / seconds fields instead of a popup, a clearer Add Selfie button, and plenty of polish for phone keyboards and touch devices.
File this one away for the first storm of the season. Update to the latest version of the Run Across America app, and when the snow comes, log the shovel.
