App Update: Don't Know Your Distance? Let the App Estimate It

Not every workout comes with a mileage readout. Maybe you spent an hour in a spin class, played pickup basketball, or did yard work all afternoon — you know how long you moved, but not how far. Our latest app update fixes that.

Introducing the distance estimator

When you record an activity manually or with the indoor tracker, the distance estimator is now built right into the activity details screen. If you don't know your distance:

  1. Enter how long you were active using the new hours / minutes / seconds fields.
  2. Pick an intensity level — each activity type has its own options, like Casual vs. Competitive for soccer or Light clearing vs. Heavy shoveling for snow shoveling.
  3. The app estimates your distance and credits those miles toward your challenge.

If you already know your distance, nothing changes — just type it in. The Mi/Km toggle now sits right inside the distance field, so switching units is one tap.

Works across your favorite activities

The estimator is tuned for dozens of activity types — aerobics, basketball, climbing, cross-country skiing, soccer, yard work, and many more — each with intensity options that reflect how hard that activity actually is.

Every mile counts, even the ones your GPS never saw. Update to the latest version of the Run Across America app and give it a try on your next indoor workout.
